Collective Intelligence
What's in a Name?
collective_intelligence.jpg
Over time the term Collective Intelligence has taken on many different meanings. Most commonly, the term is used to describe the mass behavior of a group of living organisms. A primary characteristic of Collective Intelligence is the ability to leverage group think and group memory to solve difficult problems; problems that a single member of the group would be unable to solve on its own. This characteristic struck a chord with the founders of our firm;  shouldn't IT consulting organizations be governed by the same mechanisms?

As a result, Collective Intelligence the company, has modeled it operational and core business processes around the notion that the group is smarter than the individual. Each member of our firm is encouraged to share their skills and knowledge with team members creating an organization where the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.

We work with clients on many levels and under many different engagement models. We normally position a senior consultant as our engagement leader. The engagement leader coordinates work the our client and acts as a liaison between the client and the Collective. Our engagement manager can draw on the entire network of CI consultants to help them deliver solutions and solve difficult technical problems. Frequently this support network operates under the radar and our customers sense a seamless delivery of high quality services with no additional labor or support costs.

The ability to bring the 'collective' to bear on each client engagement differentiates us from most consulting firms and is a core value of Collective Intelligence.
